Chappel Galleries is owned by Waj and Edna Mirecki. They transformed a disused bakery into a commercial modern art gallery. There are regular exhibitions held here, where artists such as Geoffrey Clarke, Peter Coker, Maggi Hambling, Margaret Mellis, Cedric Morris, Michael Rothenstein, Humphrey Spender and John Wonnacott have been shown.
Waj is also a self taught artist, concentrating on painting the Essex countryside.
